The Indian financial year starts on 1st April and ends on 31st March of the following year, which is further divided into 4 quarters, namely Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4. Q1 starts from 1st April and ends on 30th June, followed by the second quarter Q2 which starts on 1st July and ends on 30th September. Third quarter Q3 lasts from 1st October to 31st December, and lastly, the fourth quarter Q4 begins from 1st January and ends on 31st March, concluding the fiscal year. After the end of each quarter, most companies release their quarterly result which acts as a periodic financial report and gives a brief overview of the financial gains and losses during the specific period of 3 months. Since Q2 has come to an end, here’s a small list of major companies which have released their financial reports recently-Â
Bajaj Finance- Bajaj Finance reported a Year-on-Year (YoY) growth of 53% in net profit at Rs.1,480.99 crores compared to Rs. 964.88 crores in the same quarter of last year. The company’s Net Interest Income (NII) also rose by 28% from Rs.4162 crores (last Q2) to Rs. 5335 crores this FY. Interest Income Reversal also saw growth from Rs.216 crores to Rs.322 crores this Q2.
Cipla Limited- The pharmaceutical company reported a YoY growth of 7% on consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) from Rs.644 crores to Rs.711 crores this Q2. Q2FY22 also came in with a 10% increase in consolidated revenue for this company after the figures rose from Rs. 5,038 crores to Rs. 5,520 crores.Â
Tech Mahindra- Tech Mahindra reported a YoY growth of 26% on its net profit with figures that surged from Rs.1,064.6 crores to Rs.1,338.7 crores in the period of a year. The revenues stood at Rs.10,881 crores, which can be seen as a 16% rise compared to the revenues generated in Q2FY21.Â
IndiGo- India’s one of the largest domestic air carriers has reported a loss of Rs.1,435.6 crores in Q2FY22 due to airline restrictions. Even though the gains were better when compared on a Year-on-Year basis, the reports used to be far better than this.
ITC Limited- The company released a standalone Profit After Tax of Rs.3,697 crores, a 14% increase from the previous Q2, the standalone revenues saw an increase of 12%, rising from Rs.12,103 crores to Rs.13,553 crores in the span of a year.Â
